I need help suggestions. I am allergic to eggs, shellfish, nuts and tomatoes. Can I still sustainabily follow a Mediterranean food lifestyle? I noticed you said eggs are big in their diet and w my egg allergy I can’t do that. 🙁 Please help. Thank you!

In reply to Donnajean. Yes. Use 2 sheets if needed. I make a similar thing from my own recipe and always need 2 sheets. Whatever gets a single layer.

This is probably one of our favorite recipes at my house. We eat it as a main. I don’t use as much olive oil as the recipe calls for and I have always used canned butter beans – I just drain and rinse them really well before adding them to the sauce and then let simmer for 15 mins.

The recipe is easy to follow and sardines were delicious! I did not have onion flakes and fresh parsley and used onion powder and parsley flakes instead. That turned out well. Thanks for sharing the recipe

Thank you, Elena for this excellent recipe. I chose it for its complex herb/spice mix (onion, dill, parsley, mint and nutmeg). I also added two cloves garlic and a pinch of black pepper to punch it up a little. The result was truly scrumptious.

I just made and followed the recipe to a T and while they were really good I’m a bit perplexed about the word herbs in the title when it only calls for chopped parsley. Are there other herbs I could add like greek oregano or dill?
